America’s Best Beach Etiquette

The map below highlights the beach in each state that vacationers voted as having the best beach etiquette, based on factors such as cleanliness, respect for personal space, noise levels, and overall consideration for fellow beachgoers.

Methodology: This study is based on a survey of 3,011 U.S. adults conducted in June 2026. Respondents were asked to identify the beach in their state where visitors demonstrate the best overall etiquette, taking into account behaviors such as keeping the beach clean, respecting personal space, controlling noise levels, following local rules, and being considerate of other beachgoers. The survey was conducted online using a geographically representative sample of Americans, with results weighted where necessary to reflect population benchmarks. Data quality measures included geo-verification, bot detection, speed checks, and manual response review.
